Welcome to Unlocking History. Debuting in Fordingbridge, Hampshire on the edge of the New Forest, Unlocking History aims to provide an entertaining, educating and engaging experience for visitors to the town.
Throughout many of the town’s shops and businesses you will discover Unlocking History posters each with their own unique QR code. Simply use your phone to open the code (your normal camera should work just fine) and unlock the story of the building in front of you. There’s no App to download, no personal data to share, the only requirement is for you to be physically in front of the poster!
From July 2023 codes are being introduced all across the town and more will be added in the weeks going forward. Fordingbridge has so many tales to tell, a rich history that flows all the way back to Roman times and has been called home by a number of influential, innovative and colourful characters over the years. Fordingbridge has had its fair share of exciting visitors too from royalty to infamous smuggler pirates! Unlocking History will open a gateway to the past and make sure their stories, and those of the town itself, are never forgotten.
